Two sides at opposite ends of the NW Hants Div 2 table, Burghclere having lost only once Longparish II desperate for a win. Burghclere batted first and after a slow start, picked up the pace to post a total of 196. Adam Seidman the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 29. John Young clearing up the Burghclere tail with 3 for 13. Longparish left to rue dropped catches and a high number of extras. Burghclere's captain S Strimder the chief recipient of good fortune punishing Longparish with a hard hit 49. The Longparish innings started well, Adam Lister 25 and John Young 17 all getting starts. Warren Bonathan hit a superb 49 as Longparish were well ahead of the required rate at the half way stage. After drinks Longparish hit the self destruct button losing wickets to the spin bowling of J Neal 4 for 27 and S Gill 3 for 56. falling behind the required run rate and eventually finishing 13 runs short of victory which at mid innings had seemed a certainty.
